A computer icon is a minute pictogram which is commonly found on computer desktops of operating systems such as Windows or Linux.

This icon has an average size of 16x16 pixels that can reach up to 128x128 pixels, although there are also some OS or operating systems that have 512x512 pixels.

These icons can be re-sized to an individual’s specifications.

Some icons, like the my computer icon or the recycle bin icon are so-called default icons that are placed on the desktop by the operating system.

An icon can also be deleted if the user finds it no longer useful or needed. Deleting a computer icon is fairly easy. All it usually takes is to select it with the mouse and press the Delete key.
