illustration friday
The tag illustration friday is used frequently by illustrators in their blogs when entering a weekly illustration challenge. A topic is posted every Friday and then participants have all week to come up with their own interpretation. Each entry is then posted on illustrationfriday.com. The competition is very popular, and published illustrators of children's books regularly enter the weekly challenge.
Topics are picked each week from a list of suggestions that have been emailed by participants. If you have a topic suggestion, you can submit it on the Illustrationfriday.com web site. Illustration Friday also has an art forum where you can discuss creative issues, ask questions or just get feedback on your work. Looking to find people in your area to start an illustration group? The art forum is a good place to start. Illustration Friday was created by illustrator Penelope Dullaghan.
