illustrators
The tag illustrators is a popular tag often used by bloggers discussing the people who illustrate books. Drawn is a well-known blog about illustrators. Many illustrators also blog regularly and their blogs have huge followings. Some examples include the blogs of Mo Willems, author / illustrator of the popular Pigeon series of books and Elizabeth O. Dulemba, illustrator of The Prince's Diary.
Illustrators often blog as a way of promoting their books. This trend will likely increase, as book publishing companies are relying less often on traditional book tours, and the burden is increasingly placed on illustrators to use the internet to promote their books. In addition to using their blog to promote their own work, many illustrators are using their blogs to promote the work of other illustrators. A great example of this is Picture-Bookies a group blog written by eight children's book illustrators.
