Founders Imperial Stout and Porter timetable set for January

Following up on my initial report of the return of Founders Imperial Stout and Porter, the two beers are now tentatively set for a January release.

Harvey’s Imperial Extra Double Stout
http://themothersmilk.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 10/ harveys-imperial-extra-double-stou…Last Thursday I brewed this years batch of The Merchant of the Devil , my own Imperial Stout. The brew went very well and despite suffering the only stuck mash I have ever had with my current mash tun set up I achieved an O.G of 1111, and was able to make a small beer of O.G. 1056 from the late runnings.

[Additional note: Rumor is that the Lost Abbey September Sinners release will come in November so two brews that month] Great Divide Barrel-Aged (Whiskey) beers will be on sale beginning Monday.

Beer Notes: Brewdog Smokehead and Shelton Brothers Update #1

This one has been aged in Smokehead Islay barrels from Ian McLeod Distillers. Initial beer reviews appear to be quite favorable. The guys also blogged about another new project last month: We had 2 Invergordon 1965 whisky casks, Invergordon is a fantastic grain whisky with amazing coconut, vanilla and toffee flavours.

Surly Darkness Day 2008 Details Revealed

The Surly Darkness release takes place on Saturday, October 25th at 12pm. First 700 people in line can get up to six bottles so I am presuming that at least 4200 bottles have been produced. That is over a 500% increase from last year’s total.
