Investors are people who put money at risk with the hope of some sort of eventual gain. While the word “investor” conjures up thoughts of the stock market, the truth is that there are countless other types of investments out there – like money market accounts and bonds, for instance.

The success of an investor depends largely on his or her ability to pick good investments. Professional investors – like those who have proven their ability to select high-returning stocks – often manage money for others as well, in exchange for a fee.
