IPL as a common abbreviation can represents a number of areas of interest in the bloggosphere:

Indian Premier League (IPL) Cricket: Cricket is India's most popular sport, crossing all ethnic, religious, economic an social boundaries. It's played in more than 100 countries.

IPL in North America commonly refers to Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), a medical device that emits light energy. IPLs are not lasers which emit 'coherent' light in exactly the same wavelength. IPLs emit white light that is filtered to a desired wavelength. Both IPLs and cosmetic lasers are used in laser clincs, skin and medical spas to treat cosmetic conditions like Melasma, age spots, laser hair removal, and general complexion issues.

IPL has been added as a cosmetic treatment to many plastic surgery and cosmetic dermatology practices and is a standard at med spas and laser clinics.

Most medical spa or skin clinic blogs will have an area devoted to marketing IPL treatments to potential patients. 

There are also blogs that deal with the medical aspects of IPL and lasers and discussing treatment parameters and protocols for physicians running cosmetic practices.

IPL equipment manuactures generally do not use blogs do to the high litigation risks.
