Richard Jalichandra is the President and CEO of Technorati, Inc, the parent of Technorati Media, an ad network focusing on blogs and social media; Technorati.com, the world’s largest blog search engine and directory; Blogcritics, an online magazine and writers' community; and AdEngage, a self-service advertising platform.
Jalichandra is an Internet executive with media experience that includes work as an advertising client, an advertising agency, as an online publisher, and as an advertising network. He has held executive roles at a number of Internet companies including: Fox Interactive Media; IGN Entertainment, which was acquired by Fox Interactive; Lycos; Neopost Online; and Think New Ideas. He also founded a boutique marketing agency in Singapore, and his early career included positions at Ford, IBM, and Siemens. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern California and an M.B.A. from the University of Washington.
As Technorati’s CEO, Jalichandra is a respected authority on blogs and social media, often referenced in relation to the company’s State of the Blogosphere. He is a frequent speaker on trends in social media, particularly about the growing professional class of bloggers and blogs as media entities. His life and career was profiled in 2008 in The New York Times, detailing how he started his media and advertising career while living in Southeast Asia.
