Jesus most often refers to Jesus of Nazareth (7–2 BC/BCE – 26–36 AD/CE), also known as Jesus Christ, the central figure of Christianity, revered by most, but not all, Christian churches as the son of God, or God manifest in the flesh. The history of Jesus Christ is contained in four books or gospels; outside these there is no reliable narrative of his life. Jesus, in Hebrew is Yeshua, which means Salvation, and Christ means, Messiah, or Promised One.

Islam considers Jesus a prophet, Judaism rejects the claim that Jesus is the Messiah foretold in the Hebrew Bible. Some Christian religions do not believe Jesus was God manifest in the flesh but the son of God by spiritual accord with God, and doing only his bidding. You can look up specific religions in the blogosphere and find the dogma they ascribe to, by typing the word Christian religions, or just religions, in the search bar of a search engine.

Jesus, or Jesus Christ, is also a commonly used expletive. Not technically blasphemous it is considered, by those who are Christian, as taking the Lord's name in vain, something The Third Commandment frowns upon.

Back in July, Maggie Dawn posted as good a set of "instructions" for the Jesus Prayer that I have seen. They are simple, positive, and hopeful. They come from a blog by Kelvin Wright called, Available Light that seeks to follow a spiritual path of discipline. Since I have often found the Jesus Prayer a good practice, ...

A video I found on askegg’s youtube channel. At the beginning, (0:22) woman claims that a dead person was raised along with other fictitious miracles. Jesus told wartime stories. You can find them in Matthew 25. 1-13 and the other stories which are recorded for us in Chapters 24 and 25 of Matthew’s Gospel. That seems an odd thing to say about a story that is to do with a wedding and which does not mention war but the context in which Jesus told these stories ...
