jigging
Jigging is a word used to describe how one would fish using a jig, usually in an up and down, bounce off the bottom type motion.
A jig lure is a popular fishing lure that is small but heavy and considered very attractive to almost any fish found in saltwater and freshwater.
Jigging can be used in any depth of water, simply using a heavier jig for deeper areas or areas with more current.
Jigging can also be done while moving the lure in a jerky motion through the waters to mimic movements of the bait fish it is modeled after.
Jig lures are usually molded after bait fish and will often resemble them quite closely, depending on which company manufactured the lure.
