In this economy, it may seem like job offers are rarer than a two-headed unicorn. But, in reality, there are job offers out there. You just need to know where to look and how to get them.

Job offers will come, but it's usually a three-step process:

1) Find a job you want. Remember, the best diggers get the best digging jobs. If you don't like digging, find something else that strikes your fancy. Find something you love and then find someone who will pay you to do it.

2) Create a resume, complete with work references. Hint: put down references who will say nice things about you. If a potential employer calls your references and they say something like, "Well, he's not really my friend, he's more like a friend-in-law," then you're in trouble. Write down people who you have worked with in the past and with whom you have a good working relationship.

3) Once you get the job offer, and consequently, the job, make sure you do the job. Sometimes we are so worried about keeping our job that we forget to do our job.
