As per Rick Green’s counter, today is 524 days since Julie Amero’s conviction was overturned and a new trial ordered by Judge Strackbein in New London. The last media coverage was in July. The pending case detail on the Judicial Branch website reports that her case is “on the trial list, to be scheduled” and the last court date was October 27, 2008.

Julie Amero: 432 Days, No Resolution. Still

    http://www.drumsnwhistles.com/ 2008/ 08/ 19/ julie-amero-432-days-no-resolution-…

Or, as Rick Green said so well today, Julie Amero is held hostage for 432 days. I’m waiting for the state to admit that this poor substitute teacher should never have been arrested, tried and convicted. I’m waiting for prosecutors in Norwich to do something: come up with some real evidence and try her — or drop the charges.

There is an online petition set up for Julie Amero, appealing to the state and local prosecutors to withdraw all charges against her and end the nightmare that has been the last 3 1/2 years of her life. Click here to sign it. Even though it’s been 13 months since Judge Strackbein set aside the verdict against her, it’s not enough.

Michael Fiola and the Ticking Time Bomb

    http://www.drumsnwhistles.com/ 2008/ 06/ 17/ michael-fiola-and-the-ticking-time-…

Unlike Julie Amero, Michael Fiola won’t face criminal charges for possession of child pornography. But that doesn’t make his case any less egregious, or his life any different today. It doesn’t give him his job back, restore his reputation, or the harm that’s been done as a result of yet another ignorant leap to the wrong conclusion.
