Keira Christina Knightley was born on March 26, 1985, to actor/playwright parents in Teddington, Middlesex, England. She began her career as a child actress but didn't get her big break until 2002, when she was cast in the immensely popular comedy film Bend It Like Beckham. Little did she know at the time, Keira Knightley's career would soon explode on an international scale.

The summer of 2003 ushered in the release of the Hollywood blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, with Keira as the romantic lead. The British comedy Love Actually, with a star-studded cast including Hugh Grant and Emma Thompson, was released in November 2003, while King Arthur was a summer 2004 release.

Keira was nominated for an Academy Award in 2005 for her role as Elizabeth Bennet in Pride & Prejudice, solidifying her status as one of Hollywood's most promising leading ladies. 2006 saw Keira reprise her role as Elizabeth Swan alongside Johnny Depp in the sequel to Pirates of the Caribbean. The sequel remains her biggest box office hit to date.
