Kenya, also referred to as the Republic of Kenya, is close to the equator, bordering Tanzania, Ethiopia, Somalia, Uganda and Sudan. Kenya is home to close to 38 million people.

Kenya has thousands of species of animals making it a popular destination for safari holidays. In fact, Kenya claims to be the first to ever have a commercial safari holiday. It is home to the "big five" animals of Africa which are the leopard, the buffalo, the lion, the rhinoceros and the elephant.

The capital of Kenya is the city of Nairobi, having a population of 2,940,911. The second largest city by population is Mombasaa with 707,400 people.
