Kiev is the capital the Ukraine. You can also meet that Kiev is spelled like Kyiv. Both versions are correct, but Kiev is an older version, and more people around the globe know it.

First dwellings on this territory date back 15,000 - 20,000 years ago. But the "official" history of Kiev starts around 737 a.d. Kiev was the heart of Kiev Rus - the gatherer of all Slavic tribes, also known as the "Mother of all Russian Cities", because the current Russia has been derived from the Kiev tribes that came to northern parts and over ages have built their own future.

Today Kiev is a combination of ancient culture (like Kiev Pechersk Lavra, Kiev Saint-Sophia Cathedral), modern business centers (like Regus), cultural places (like National Opera and Ballet House) and a lot more.

People who come to Kiev should make sure they have settled all questions about local weather, accommodation in Kiev apartments and the list of places to visit.
