Wikipedia describes latex thusly, "Latex is the stable dispersion (emulsion) of polymer microparticles in an aqueous medium." No lie! So there you go, you have now self-smarted yourself as it relates to latex.

But let's talk about latex in laymen's terms using much easier to understand language. Latex is a milky fluid that is produced by plants. It is used to make rubber, and can be found in things like clothing, gloves, the latex mattress, the kind of balloons that you can't take into a hospital, and even the thing that men use that ends in "ojan."
