AP - Lance Armstrong is getting back on his bike, determined to win an eighth Tour de France. Armstrong’s return from cancer to win the Tour a record seven consecutive times made him a hero to cancer patients worldwide and elevated cycling to an unprecedented level in America.

CNN/Sports Illustrated is reporting that Velonews says Lance Armstrong is planning to return to the Tour de France in 2009. Though the man himself has not confirmed yet. Just like Mike, I guess Lance is feeling a little bored and unloved in retirement.

The Sierra Blogging Post has released two more podcasts of Adventure Edge Radio with Jimmy Buff.  I have been following this series since it’s inception and it has proven to be quite a resource for adventure news and information.  Somehow I got behind a week with my updates to the podcast, but that’s alright because I am making up for it today by giving you a double dose.

August 18, 2008 I had an epiphany last weekend at Leadville–I realized that Kim is not only the love of my life, but also the key (ha, you’ll see) to my success in pretty much any endurance event I’m struggling in. I ran the Logan marathon several years back, my first of two marathons, which I ran, you know, just to see if I could.

August 9th, 2008, Lance Armstrong competed in the Leadville 100 mountain bike race. Even most non-cyclists know who Lance is. Five time defending Leadville 100 champ, Dave Wiens, is less well known. Even though Dave Wiens is less well known than Lance, he had a very successful mountain bike career.

August 15, 2008 I have video from a bunch of different sources, Shelle’s little camera, Rick’s Flip, Holly’s video camera, and Kim’s video camera. Some I could get to work in Pinnacle, some in Movie Maker, some no place, but never all of it in one place. Finally I decided I’m no Coppola.
