    French Friday’s

    http://francetales.com/ 2008/ 10/ 03/ french-fridays/

I just got back from French Friday. It was a group organized for English speakers to practice their French, I think. It has turned into an English conversational group. Now there are many French who attend to improve their English conversation skills. I’ve invited my students many times, but no one has come yet.

k&k episode 178 - the one where they relish the verbal love... and stuff...

    http://www.katiaandkyliemac.com/ archive/ kk_episode_178.php

We're all about the verbal love in episode 178, as we review a few voicemails and emails we've received from listeners over the last couple of weeks (and get distracted by stories, but what's new?). Kyliemac gives us a university update, and Katia talks about some of her mum's adventures learning French.

    When English is not fun!

    http://www.blacktokyo.com/ 2008/ 09/ 28/ jam/

James at Japan Probe posted this interesting video of a kid living out his mother's dream [my opinion]. The mom is so set on her son passing frickin' tests instead of him ENJOYING youth and LOVING TO LEARN, the poor kid is reduced to living a Japanese businessman's life at an early age.

A cold, persistent drizzle rapped on my apartment windows over the weekend. I huddled under a blanket, laptop overheating my knees, and mug after mug of coffee from an Ikea mug that is missing its handle.
