lebron james
American professional basketball sensation LeBron Raymone James (aka "The Chosen One") was born on December 30, 1984 in Akron, Ohio. He was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA entry draft.
LeBron James first gained notoriety as a freshman at St. Vincent–St. Mary High School. He landed on the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine a couple of years later, dubbed as the most promising young basketball talent to have emerged since the likes of Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan.
As one of the most dominant players in NBA history, LeBron James was named "Rookie of the Year" in 2004 and "Most Valuable Player" in 2009. He won a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics and in 1999, led the Cavaliers to their first division championship in 33 years.
In March 2008 LeBron James appeared on the cover of Vogue alongside Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen, becoming the first African American man to appear on the cover of the coveted magazine.
James has two children with his high school sweetheart, Savannah Brinson.
