lego

Lego are construction toys and are the flagship product of the Lego Group, a company based in Denmark.

Lego, made of hard plastic with studs allowing the pieces to fit together easily, combined with gears and various other parts, are used to create a variety of objects like buildings, vehicles and robots.

In 1998 Lego started a new robotics line of toys called Mindstorms. At the core of these robotics sets is a programmable Lego brick which includes sensors for light and sound detection.

Popularity of the Lego robotics sets have exploded over the years, with add-on sensors being created, unofficial languages used to interface with them and competitions that push the Mindstorms to their limits.

The Lego Mindstorms discussions that are happening online suggest that this popularity sees no chance of fading anytime soon.
