    Mahmoud Darwish (March 13, 1941-August 9, 2008) From the Jerusalem Post: Renowned Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish has died at 67, an aide to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said Saturday evening. Nabil Abu Rdeneh, an Abbas spokesman, said Darwish died at a hospital in Houston, Texas, following complications from an open heart surgery.
