American hip-hop singing sensation Lil' Kim (nee Kimberly Denise Jones) was born on July 11th, 1975 in Brooklyn New York. Best known for her catchy lyrics, provocative attire, and diva personality, Lil' Kim is never one to shy away from controversy.

With four successful albums already under her belt, including her 1996 multi-platinum debut Hard Core, Lil' Kim is one of the most successful female rappers in the industry.

In 2001, Lil' Kim teamed up with Christina Aguilera, Pink, and Mya for the wildly successful remake of Patti LaBelle's Lady Marmalade for the Moulin Rouge movie soundtrack. Lady Marmalade remains Lil' Kim's biggest single to date, topping Billboard's Top 40 Tracks chart for nine consecutive weeks and garnering her a Grammy award for "Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals".

Lil' Kim ran into some legal trouble in 2005 when she was convicted on three counts of conspiracy and one count of perjury when she lied to a Federal grand jury about her friend's involvement in a shooting outside a Manhattan nightclub. Lil' Kim served 10 months in prison.
