live blog

For the ambitious blogger willing to try new formats, perhaps they will participate in a live blog, which is a post about an event that is continuously updated. For example, technology events or even Election Night in America.

There has been some controversy in the sports world about reporters live blogging events in-person. The NCAA, for example, has limits on live blogging in terms of how often one can update posts.

Since 2007 a lot of blogs and mainstream publications began using an applet called CoverItLive which allowed one or more bloggers to collaborate in a live blog. The software also has features that allow readers to provide feedback and participate in the live blog. Also, the blog automatically updates, so there's no need for that ornery "Refresh" button.
