The word loss has a wide scope of definitions in our world. As a general rule the word loss means to lose something that you had, which makes it sound like a word most commonly associated with material possessions. However it can have so many more meanings for example, the loss of a sports game by one of the two teams involved, or it can mean hair loss. Or in the financial world it could refer to the loss of profit within a financial year for a particular company. On a more personal note, loss can also refer to the death of a loved one whether they be young or old.
