How To Get The Most Out of GMail
http://www.lucafiligheddu.com/ 2008/ 08/ how-to-get-the-most-out-of-gmail.htmlI’m one of the persons that use GMail as my primary email account. All my company emails are forwarded to my Gmail account, this way I can also leverage the best spam filter I’ve ever tried so far. In addition, I have a GMail for your domain account, where my addresses @lucafiligheddu.com point to.

Light blogging…
http://www.lucafiligheddu.com/ 2008/ 08/ light-blogging.htmlI apologize if I’m not that responsive in getting back to you or if I don’t promptly follow up on news that you send me. I’m just at home on “vacation”… Well, not really, since my wife is working in this period and I stay at home with my sons… 21 months and 2 months old… Available time is close to 0, sorry.

Summer rates by Abbeyphone
http://www.lucafiligheddu.com/ 2008/ 08/ summer-rates-by-abbeyphone.htmlAbbeyphone, my company’s division for consumer VoIP, just came out with the new summer rates, really very cheap. Abbeyphone is a not much advertised service, but I have to say that it works very well, from any SIP device or from the web, through call back (if needed) and it’s up and running since 2003 thanks to very faithful and loyal customers.

Free World Dialup deserves our praise
http://www.lucafiligheddu.com/ 2008/ 08/ free-world-dialup-deserves-our-praise.h…Jeff Pulver informs on his blog that Free World Dialup, the pioneer VoIP service he launched 12 years ago, will not be free any longer. Members now have to pay a $30/year subscription fee in order to continue to use FWD’s services. I definitely praise this move, and every VoIP user should.

Use VoIP to Solve Problems
http://www.lucafiligheddu.com/ 2008/ 08/ use-voip-to-solve-problems.htmlI predicted many times that a new trend with VoIP services would have been the ability to solve specific problems for the final users. This can lead to both services that are free for users or that users are willing to pay for. In any case, there are many ways to monetize them, directly or indirectly and the value for customers could be very high.

Apple Mail and Gmail with IMAP
http://www.lucafiligheddu.com/ 2008/ 08/ apple-mail-and-gmail-with-imap.htmlI was trying to use GMail on Apple Mail through IMAP. While the experience is definitely great (in particular the ability to keep your iPhone and Apple Mail always synced) speed is a big problem. I realized that the problem is about the SPAM folder.

Thomas Howe speaks up: MagicJack
http://www.lucafiligheddu.com/ 2008/ 08/ thomas-howe-speaks-up-magicjack.htmlThomas Howe’s blog post caught my attention today. It’s all about MagicJack, a VoIP service based on an USB/ATA device, which is advertising on web and TV, through messages and claims that Thomas defines “misleading“. Take a look at Tom’s post and judge by yourself.
