I’m sure you’ve all seen “the list” by now, but this week Starbucks finally announced exactly which stores would be getting the ax in the coming weeks. Surprisingly, there were very few in the Los Angeles area, but some major U.S. cities will be jonesing for a Caramel Macchiato fix very soon.

And the spate of bad news around the world continues. Premium coffee retailer Starbucks Corp. announced that in the next year, it will close around 600 company-operated stores in the United States. The move was a response to the company’s weakening profitability, hurt partly by the struggling economy in the US.
