Madrid is the largest city in Spain. It has been the capital city of Spain since the 1500’s. Madrid is a major financial center and home of most of the Spanish companies throughout the Iberian Peninsula. The population of Madrid’s Metropolitan area is 5.84 million people. Madrid hosts a dry climate with and average summertime temperature of 30 °C (86 °F) and an average winter temperature of 0 °C (32 °F).


Madrid is home to a vast amount of private and public universities allowing the city to be an educational hub in Spain. It also host the largest bullring in Spain, Las Ventas. Visitors staying at Madrid hotels often explore the Royal Palace of Madrid, the Teatro Real, the Buen Retiro Park, and the National Library building. Madrid is mostly noted world wide for its cultural heritage and amazing nightlife. Traffic jams at 4am are common as people head home for the night as well as start their commute to work. Always consult with a good Madrid travel guide before departing on your vacation or trip.


Madrid hosts a variety of great monuments, art museums, world-renowned restaurants and luxury hotels. The city is also known for its modern architecture, as well as historical neighborhoods and buildings.
