A maid (or maidservant as they are sometimes called) is a very unique type of person. They are organized, competent, resourceful, professional, and efficient. And if it's a crime to keep a house spotless and running like a well-oiled machine, then they're guilty!

Maids have long been bedeviled by a reputation and stereotype of being a lowly servant. However, this simply is not the case. Especially these days. Maids are the cleaners of the indoors and the gardeners of the outdoors. Maids can also serve as tutors for the children. And maids can be over the finances and budgeting of a household.

Living right in the bosom of the family, the maid often becomes a part of the family. A friend to the children, a confidant to the wife, and a fashion consultant for the husband, the maid is everything to everybody.

The term "maid" no longer means anything derogatory. Maids are sometimes the heartbeat of the family and the glue that holds families together. The maid is often a person of letters and esteem and can single-handedly raise the caliber of the household tenfold just by being around.
