    http://thedemocraticdaily.com/ 2008/ 09/ 29/ what-if-we-had-an-economic-apocolyp…

Here’s some food for thought today after the Bail Out Bill failure in the House: What If We Had An Economic Apocolypse? What would happen? What would you do? Jazz Shaw explains on The Moderate Voice. I have to say one of the reasons I am moving to Maine is to live somewhere more economical that also provides me the opportunity to live a simpler life.

    http://blog.mainefoodandlifestyle.com/ 2008/ 09/ black-dinah-cho.html

On a Friday not too long ago, I found myself in my kitchen sorting through a case of tiny, dew-speckled raspberries, fresh from the well-tended brambles at Carding Brook Farm. My friend Erica, who comes to stay at her family's summer camp on the island for a few weeks every...

Another Town Mulls Urban Chicken OK

    http://ecolocalizer.com/ 2008/ 09/ 23/ another-town-mulls-urban-chicken-ok/

It seems that self-sufficiency and raising your own food is winning increasing approval from officialdom in the U.S., with Falmouth, Maine, possibly becoming the next town to OK the keeping of chickens in residential areas.

Farming and Electing---Kids, the Adults Are Here!

    http://foodmuseum.typepad.com/ food_museum_blog/ 2008/ 09/ kids-the-adults-are-c…

Back in the high desert after a vacation along the east coast, I can report A--a lack of rain here; B--the aroma of roasting chiles in the air, and ; C--a need in yours truly to vent. Filed under: Dinner, Restaurants, America, Local Eating There are numerous reasons why I enjoy going to restaurants that serve local food. When traveling it's an exciting way to discover the foods that different places have to offer. Atlantica in Camden, Maine is an excellent restaurant that incorporates local ingredients.
