Mark Zuckerberg is an American Internet entrepreneur, best known for co-founding the social networking website Facebook, with his Harvard classmates Dustin Moskovitz, Eduardo Saverin, and Chris Hughes. He is currently chief executive and president of Facebook, and was 24% shareholder in 2010.

Mark Zuckerberg began creating computer programs in middle school and was dubbed a child prodigy by his private programming tutor. He also created a number of computer games, based on drawings and concepts done by his friends. While at Harvard, he created programs that allowed some level of communication and interactivity between students (CourseMatch and Facemash).

On February, 2004, Zuckerberg launched Facebook from his Harvard dormitory room. He later stated that he was inspired by a concept of a "Photo Address Book" he had seen at his prep school, which allowed students to list things like their class years, their proximities to friends, and telephone numbers.
