Paramount Studios wants to shoot Torso starring Matt Damon as Eliot Ness early next year in Cleveland, reports the state’s website. The movie relates the story of the state’s famous Torso or Kingsbury Run murders where at least 13 people were killed between 1934 and 1938. The killings were never solved, though.

David Fincher’s next project is Torso, with Cleveland as the backdrop, an adaptation of the Michael Bendis/Marc Andreyko graphic novel. In a story from Cleveland.com, Matt Damon is supposedly going to be playing Elliot Ness in the film. The graphic novel revolves around Cleveland’s notorious Kingsbury Run murders, also dubbed the Torso Murders.

David Fincher is usually slow and methodical, but lately, he's been working fast and furious. At least compared to his usual pace. His adaptation of the true crime novel, "Torso," is looking like it's moving forward as Matt Damon has been apparently cast as the lead according to Film School Rejects who say his role in the film is now confirmed.

The first time, and to my recollection the last time, there was any mention of David Fincher's adaptation of the graphic novel Torso was when the film was announced back in 2006 and originally expected to be filmed inbetween Zodiac and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
