A Japanese car manufacturer, based in Hiroshima; Mazda is one of the leading innovators in automotive manufacturing. The Mazda car range dates back to 1931 with the introduction of the ‘Mazda-Go’, continuing through the 1960’s when Mazda first started to toy with the idea of the Wankel rotary engine, and the first cars to use this technology in the ‘Cosmo Sport’. All the way up to the present day with the ‘RX’ series, the latest and arguably the best of which is the most recent ‘RX 8’. The success of these cars is easily visible by the company’s net income in 2007, of 91.8 billion Japanese yen.
