It’s funny how life works. Things happen to you and you would never see yourself in that situation until your placed smack dab in the middle of that very situation. I work at a temp agency so I talk to a lot of people that are looking for work or looking to supplement an already existent income.

In Kaikoura we swam with the dolphins! Not in a tank or a huge pool – we swam with the dolphins on THEIR terms, in THEIR natural setting – the Pacific Ocean. The staff donned us with our wetsuits and snorkel gear, drove us out into the middle of the ocean where we found a pod of about 100 dusky dolphins.

For some reason, networking has this really bad reputation as being something only used car salesmen or cutthroat politicians do to get what they want. But people, there is nothing nefarious about networking. It’s all about getting to know people with whom you have a common interest, and that, my friends, is a heck of a lot of fun.

I was criticized for my remarks in the Erie newspaper article by Jim Martin (Area home sales steady) for saying the Erie real estate market was slow. The sales figures are in. Real estate sales for Erie County dropped precipitously in March compared to a year earlier and even two years ago.

US Senator Hillary Clinton spoke yesterday in Erie at Mercyhurt College. The Mercyhurst Athletic Center was packed for her one hour speech. The pro-life group People for Life picketed outside the main gates of the campus. Clinton discussed economic and health care issues.

You have to wonder about the wisdom of having a Hillary Clinton campaign rally at Mercyhurst College. Erie Roman Catholic Bishop Trautman was so miffed about a pro-choice candidate speaking at the Catholic school he canceled his appearance at the Mercyhurst graduation.
