It has been said that the faintest ink is better than the greatest memory. And it's true. No matter how sharp your memory is (or you think it is), it is no match for the simple act of just scratching something down with pen on paper. Our memories seem to get worse and worse as the years march on.

Just pull out an old journal or diary you wrote when you were younger and begin to read through it to test your recall! You will be amazed at how much you have forgotten.

Or, better yet, go rent one of your favorite movies from your childhood and watch it again. All those parts you thought were different or didn't remember being in there? It hasn't changed one iota! All that has changed is your memory of the movie. Pretty sobering, huh?

While doing crossword puzzles and keeping up on the current news may seem like good methods of how to improve the memory, truth be told, regular sleeping patterns, exercise, keeping your stress levels down, and healthy eating habits are much, much more effective.
