Michael Connelly is a best-selling American mystery writer who started his career as a journalist and once worked the crime beat for the Los Angeles Times. His novel The Black Echo, published in 1992, won the Edgar Award for Best First Novel from the Mystery Writers of America and introduced Detective Hieronymus "Harry" Bosch, a character who has appeared in many other Connelly novels.
He has written has also written stand-alone books, including Blood Work, which was turned into a Clint Eastwood movie in 2002, and books that mix series, such as the 2008's The Brass Verdict, which featured Bosch and defense lawyer Mickey Haller, first introduced in 2005 in The Lincoln Lawyer.
