Mobile technology is a collective term used to describe the various types of cellular communication technology. This includes phones, tablets, laptops, GPS devices, and any other technology that can conveniently be used on the go. Experts argue that this is the future of computer technology, as more and more daily tasks become doable on a cell phone or smartphone.

Mobile technology is particularly growing in the field of commerce, as mobile payments and mobile shopping become increasingly popular. The mobile commerce ecosystem is projected to produce $119 billion in mobile purchases by 2015.
