movie reviews
Most people love to talk about movies they've seen, even if it's to just give a thumbs-up or thumbs-down. That makes movie reviews a popular tag.
Movie reviews refers to analysis of or commentary on particular movies. Some sites compile reviews from a variety of sources, others ask readers for reviews and other sites use individual reviews. The tag may have broad usage, encompassing not only movies currently in theaters but also ones that are released on DVD. It will also cover the full spectrum of movies, from dramas to comedies to documentaries.
While one might consider being a movie reviewer one of the greatest jobs around, the quality of movie reviews depends on knowledge of film as a whole or the subject matter of a particular movie.

The Lovely Bones International Trailer: Sadly, No New Footage

I keep looking for something that will sell me on The Lovely Bones . Once upon a time, Peter Jackson ’s name would have been enough. It’s not that King Kong changed that, but between the problems with Kong and the fact that the story in this new film doesn’t grab me (based on what I know about it) I’m in ...3 hours ago -

One of the many things that sets Pixar apart from other animation studios (less so Disney these days, you might imagine) is their dedication to nurture and cultivation. This applies both to the talent, the animators and directors, but also to their projects. As such, many of their films begin with a pitch that’s ...4 hours ago -

I switched back to my old green site theme. The other one hadn’t been exactly what I wanted to begin with, and it had a couple of formatting and navigational issues that I just couldn’t cope with. Plus it was a little too teeny-bopper angsty. So, back to the old faithful green, which I have to admit I ...9 hours ago -

It’s common knowledge that most people feel they have great stories that would be great if only turned into a movie. The sad fact is that lots of people don’t realize that just like the music, or fashion industry, the movie business is a business, and looks for saleable, surefire hits, not misses. However, there ...21 hours ago -

We don’t have a review of Fantastic Mr. Fox this weekend (I haven’t even seen it yet, being in Atlanta rather than on the coast) but this is a nice alternative. There was that whole uproar over the fact that Wes Anderson directed some of the film via email , but he also used a lot of video direction. And, ...21 hours ago -

One of the things I despise when reading movie or music reviews is the unwanted and ill-informed insertion of a political opinion into a piece that ought not to be even a little bit political. Let’s get this straight from the very beginning: You don’t go to a Roland Emmerich thriller looking for great characters, dialogue, or plot, because all of those are filled with holes. 2012 is another disaster movie from the makers of "Independence Day". As with other disaster films, you need to be able to cast aside a certain level of facts and intelligence until the film is over. I know I said in the review for The Box that I love films that make you think. I must add that there is a place for the blockbuster. With its extensive use of CGI, 2012 is very much a spectacular, if overly long, ride. Based on the theory that the Mayan calendar will end on December 21, 2012, thus heralding the end ...1 day ago -

I admit, the only reason I even sat down to watch this film was because Edward Furlong was in it. In “2012,” there’s got to be a morning after, if for no other reason than formulaic disaster epics have to have some measure of hope at the end.
