movie review

Tag details

Most people love to talk about movies they've seen, even if it's to just give a thumbs-up or thumbs-down. That accounts for much of the popularity of the tag movie review.

A movie review is an analysis of or commentary on a particular movie. Some sites compile reviews from a variety of sources, others ask readers for reviews and other sites use individual reviews. The tag may have broad usage, encompassing not only movies currently in theaters but also ones that are released on DVD. It will also cover the full spectrum of movies, from dramas to comedies to documentaries.

While one might consider being a movie reviewer one of the greatest jobs around, the quality of a movie review depends on knowledge of film as a whole or the subject matter of the movie.

I recently watched the 1935 adaptation of David Copperfield. And from the start, I knew it was going to be very interesting! I must say I just LOVED the introduction of Aunt Betsey played by Edna May Oliver. It was such a comical scene. Just a delight. And its surprisingly faithful to the book, I think! The book is ...

"My Cactus Heart" just feels fresh and new overall - quite a feat considering its the only genre our local mainstream film industry knows to make 90% of the time. Its not only that the pairing of Matteo Guidicelli and Maja Salvador actually works (a true blue couple in real-life) but it also brings in a narrative ...

Bullying in schools is a hot topic for many, but there seems to be a lack in modern media showing it ‘in action’ with someone overcoming it.  If this was the 1970’s, they’d most likely have an after-school special tackling the topic.   The Fat Boy Chronicles just might be filling that void now. ...
