Munich is the capital city of the free state of Bavaria and the third largest city in the country of Germany. The Munich Metropolitan Area has a population of over 5 million people. Munich’s city motto is "München mag Dich," translating as “Munich Loves You.” The language spoken most often in Munich is Austro-Bavarian. Staying in a Munich hotel is most favorable in the summer.
