When you were young, did you ever try to "beef up" and grow your muscles by feeding on a can of spinach like the famous cartoon character, Popeye?


Muscles
are made from small fibers that combine to make up an elastic type of tissue that helps you to move, lift, and even pump blood (in the case of your heart muscle). Body builders may seem to have an overabundance of muscles, but they don't actually have any more than everybody else, a number of about 640 in the human body.

If you want your muscles to grow, the tried and true (and legal) method for doing so is through exercise. You can lift weights, do kettlebell workouts, or even try interval training.

The point is, you must effect some kind of resistance against your muscles to get them to "behave in a big way". Rest your muscles, and give them a break on the weekend so that they may rebuild. Just like lying down for a restful sleep on the likes of a latex mattress helps for rejuvenation of the mind and body, so too do your muscles require a relaxed state in between the building phases.
