Don't fret loyal blog readers! I haven't been sucked into another dimension or become the new companion for the Doctor (not yet anyway, but I've got my fingers crossed). I was just on vacation. And boy did I need it. The Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon for MDA was fun and exciting as usual but also exhausting.

It happens every year — we think to ourselves: Is it Labor Day already? Although traditionally thought of as the symbolic end of summer, Labor Day has been celebrated on the first Monday in September since the 1880s as a federally recognized “day off” honoring American workers.

Years back while searching the internet for conventions I could attend I happened upon the Dragon*Con website. It looked like a lot of fun. It wasn't specific to just one genre I liked, it included just about all of them. I checked the date. Labor Day weekend. Damn. The one weekend each year I have standing plans.
