my

The word "my" in the English language is a pronoun. In fact, my is used as a possessive pronoun, or in other words an attributive adjective, as in the case of: "My latex bed is so comfortable!" Do you even remember from your early school days what a pronoun is? Well, as a refresher, a pronoun takes the place of a noun.


My is a modifier, when you use it you are describing another word or making the meaning of a word more specific. That is why you will see the word my in conjunction with another noun, side by side, describing it like any other adjective would. Another example could be, "My profile backlinks describe me so perfectly."

So are you confused yet? Is my a pronoun or an adjective? Yes. Coming back full circle, my is a pronoun, and most often a possessive pronoun used as an adjective.
