This week I’m spending a few days at my Grandma’s. I’m not sure what it is about being at Grandma’s that makes me feel like I am a little girl staying staying at Grandma’s for the week, but I kinda do. It feels like old times. This is one of my favorite spots in the whole world, because it’s where one of my favorite people in the world are.

I had a lovely dinner date tonight with J. I ordered the mahi mahi, which was REALLY dry; but no worries, as J. ate his entire dinner then started in on mine (with my permission). I picked at my salad (spinach and red onion, with balsamic vinegar) and cous cous (but just a tiny bit of that, as I realized it would probably expand in my tiny tummy).

I am a huge fan of Extreme Makeover Home Edition. I love the way Ty Pennington and his team help so many deserving families. Some of the unique ways they have built cabinetry is gorgeous. I saw on one of the shows a tv lift cabinet. It was so cool the way the tv glided up and down into the cabinet to save space in the room.

Today was Mr. Spy’s birthday, which meant small celebrations throughout the day: French toast and presents at breakfast, a quick run out to his favorite pizza place for take-out and a stop at the store for cake (I couldn’t find enough fresh blueberries to make the pie I wanted to make and frozen blueberries just aren’t the same) and cocktails coming later.
