Alternative Film Guide has posted a question and answer interview with Celine Sciamma, the writer/director of Water Lilies (Naissance des pieuvres). I usually would not do a post of this nature but since I thought Water Lilies was well executed, I decided to go ahead.

I just watched Naissance Des Pieuvres (Water Lillies). It’s about sexual confusion of teenage girls. I liked it. I didn’t know what it was about, beforehand, and if you watch the trailer, you wouldn’t know what it’s about either. That’s how they should market films, by showing you interesting images without any explanation of the plot or subject whatsoever.
