Things have been going wonderfully with my newest Etsy shop, BooDilly's. I have been so pleased with the response! (Thanks to all who have been so lovely in supporting it!) I thought I would share a few of the fun 1950's items that I recently added to the shop... This made in Japan needle book...

First of all, I have to say that I have become quite lame about posting to my blog. Can't for the life of me tell you why. Guess I just didn't wanna. That being said, today I told myself "I gotta", so I am.I've been spending my time being more crafty than sewy.

I am very happy to say that I've made my first needle book. It's for a needle book swap on Swap.bot. I had so much fun making this. I started with this tutorial, and took it from there. I really loved the "no rules" part of making this case. I definitely see a crazy quilt in my future.Here is is lying flat so can see the front and back.

  The new Interweave Felt 2008 can be pre-ordered for September delivery.  I still thumb through my 2007 issue.  These are awesome publications and you should give one a try.  I plane to order today and I will review it when I get it.  Check out the necklace and the ¾ mittens on the cover.  This promises to be an excellent issue.

When you purchase a book, you never know what you are going to get unless you can locate numerous reviews.   Most of the time Amazon has good reviews and you can get the flavor of a book and if it is one you want for yourself.  Needle Felting Artful Fashion by, Judy Jacobs and Kay Kaduce offers

Our friends at Crafty Planet are searching for your one yard fabric projects for an upcoming book called One Yard Wonders. “Inspired by the success of the One-Skein Wonders series for knitters and crocheters, we are expanding this approach to new, exciting projects for sewing enthusiasts like you!

I found some design space! After setting up the final construction and placing the ‘pencil quiver’, I found a wee bit of embroidery design space there on the back pocket. Monkeys want their bananas, right? So how about a banana? In order to ‘find’ that embroidery space, I had to stitch on the edges of the some of the exposed sides.

Now that the stitching is done on the front cover, let’s see how much room we have to stitch on the rest of the cover. I’m looking for any design space to add any other matching critters. I’m hoping there is a small space on the back. First, let’s figure out this pencil pocket.
