netbooks

Netbooks are small, lightweight notebook computers which came to the scene in late 2007. They are designed with less features, often lacking an optical drive and are inexpensive when compared to regular notebooks or computers.


Netbooks are equipped with wireless capabilities and are often given free with extended wireless contracts as an incentive, because they are so affordable.

A netbook often sports a smaller screen and smaller keyboard than even the smallest notebooks.


Netbooks are powered by various Operating Systems including Microsoft Windows and Linux. Google's Chrome OS is expected to be seen on netbooks at some point in the near future.
