Have you noticed that that there are many new blog posts stating "nothing new under the sun" — and millions that include "Happy New Year"?

A Web document updated with new information is a weblog. But is a blog with nothing new still considered as a blog by you? Who first compiled new entries into the first blog? Who compiled 1001 Arabian Nights and included the phrase "New lamps for old"? Do you need a new lamp?

Jets now burn new green biofuel in blue skies. Stem cells are part of a whole new science that promises many new treatments. Nanotech blogs promote new solutions from production of profitable new energy technologies to new hair cell regeneration. Nanocomposite paper is a new energy storage solution.

New York and New England are in the New World. But is the World Wide Web so new any more? Tim Berners-Lee asks: "What is a Web year now, about three months? And when people can browse around, discover new things, and download them fast, when we all have agents - then Web years could slip by before human beings can notice."
