NFLPA’s Plan 88 Assisting Former Players With Dementia

    http://proathletesonly.com/ news/ locker-room/ nflpas-plan-88-assisting-former-p…

Sylvia Mackey never imagined that a heartfelt letter she wrote would be a factor in the creation of a new benefit to help players suffering from dementia. She simply wanted to tell her husband John’s story and ask for help. John Mackey, like many other former players, suffers from dementia, and the late NFLPA Executive Director Gene Upshaw wanted to do something about it.

    http://www.sportsagentblog.com/ 2008/ 10/ 10/ shabbat-shalom-friday-wrap-up-49/

Want to really appreciate life, at least for a day?  Then try to fast from sun-down one day to sun-down the next.  Me and my Jewish brethren (including Ryan Braun, Kevin Youkilis, and others) finished accomplishing that feat last night.  Nothing beats the break-fast meal.  I am back home in South

Bad News Out Of Newport News

Many college football enthusiasts remember former Alabama wide-receiver, Tyrone Prothro, for the disgusting injury he suffered against the Gators (pictured right).  Jason Goggins has Prothro in his head permanently for a different reason.  Goggins used to be an NFLPA agent at Savage Sports Management,

    NFLPA Mandatory Insurance

    http://www.sportsagentblog.com/ 2008/ 10/ 06/ nflpa-mandatory-insurance/

The cost of being an agent can take quite a toll for someone looking to get into the industry without a large bankroll behind him/her.  There are state registration fees (which need to be paid if you are recruiting student athletes), players associations charge fees (minus baseball), and if you want

NFL Players Hosts a Fantasy Fantasy Football Game (Not a Typo)

    http://rotonation.com/ ?p=1479

As far as I can tell, this might be a fantasy first. The NFL Player’s Association (NFLPA) is hosting its own NFLPA Fantasy Pick’em this season. The difference is that fantasy players are picking the winners of the fantasy football match-ups in the the NFLPA’s Players League.

Exclusive Deal Not Good For All Players

    http://www.aeropause.com/ 2008/ 09/ exclusive-deal-not-good-for-all-players/

So it seems that the EA NFL exclusivity deal has marred by more than disdain from the gamers. For those just joining us, way back in 2004 EA was able to sign an deal w/ the NFL, NFLPA, etc for exclusive rights to anything NFL: players, teams, statistics, stadiums, etc.
