no line on the horizon
No Line On The Horizon is the 13th album from Rock and Roll Hall of Famers U2. The Irish quartet released the record March 3, 2009, preceded by the first single from the record "Get On Your Boots." To promote the new album, U2 did a five-night residency on David Letterman's long-running late night talk show, Late Night With David Letterman.
U2's worldwide success over their 30-year career is enough to keep them popular in and beyond the blogosphere. Their cultural stature is even greater because of U2 lead singer Bono's activism efforts (the singer has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize).
Notorious cheerleaders like Rolling Stone — hey, they liked Pop before they didn't — gave the album 5 stars. Notoriously sourpuss indie publications like Pitchfork were less impressed. Other critical opinions from mainstream critics like AMG and indie sites like Pop Matters fell somewhere in between.
