Pair of Fives
http://www.winecampblog.com/ journal/ 2008/ 5/ 15/ pair-of-fives.htmlBrilliance is a word that can mean many things: luminosity, intelligence, perfectly executed and, when it comes to flavor, lively and electric. All of those things come together in these two seductive, brilliant wines that are great values to boot coming in at under $25.

RIP Jules Dassin
http://adamdugas.com/ blog/ ?p=209The great film director passed away on April 2nd. I watched the great Thieves’ Highway last night, a noirish drama set in the world of wildcat produce truckers in the 1940s. This guy Rick comes home, maybe from the war?

2006 Oyster Bay Marlborough Pinot Noir
http://lavieenpinot.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ 2006-oyster-bay-marlborough-pinot-no…2006 Oyster Bay Marlborough Pinot Noir.Screw cap, 13% alcohol.I purchased my bottle for 15.99. I've seen it available online anywhere from 15.99 to 16.99. In the Pinot Noir world, this is cheap. But is it any good? My answer to that is, it depends. If you like big, fruit forward California style fruit bombs, you are probably going to be disappointed with this wine.

Organic Wine Week, Part 2: Pinot Noir
http://goodwineunder20.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ organic-wine-week-part-2-pinot-no…My second organic wine pick for this week involves Pinot Noir--which still seems to be everyone's favorite red variety. There's a lot to like about it, so it's not surprising. They're flavorful, rich without being heavy, and pair well with a wide variety of foods.

Now, if only I'd had some Salmon
http://wannabewino.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ now-if-only-id-had-some-salmon.htmlAs I discovered last year, I love pairing Pinot Noir with salmon on the grill. I look forward to many such pairings as fresh salmon season starts up again this year. Sadly, on the night in question we were only eating a mish mosh of leftovers with our Pinot Noir.
