I have been waiting impatiently for over a month now for this, and it is rather unfortunate my mandatory family dinner with 50 other Lawlets fell on the same day as Tiger Translate Museum 2008 launch party. I didn’t think it was wise telling my mum I was gonna skip yet another family event - I have been missing for so long, I didn’t realise I’m an auntie to 12.5 nieces and nephews.

I´m in trouble – okay perhaps calling it “trouble” might be a bit of an overstatement. But the thing is that I just got hold of the preliminary Nordic Game conference program, and just like last year my brain melted trying to decide what talks I should go to – and the program isn’t even complete yet!

If you are considering opening a small design company then I highly suggest checking out Muuto’s stratospheric launch from two guys with an idea just two years ago to an internationally recognized brand. They did this with laser focus on modern Nordic design.

I attended the Nordic Game Jam for the first time this year and it was a great experience!!! It was fun and hard work at the same time and I am now thinking: Where was I the previous years?! There are so many talents and the Nordic Game Jam is a perfect opportunity for people to meet across universities and industries - professionals, students and hobbiests.

Met up with Kristjan from Nordic eMarketing and Charlie from Indextools on Tuesday night and headed out to a Thai restaurant nearby. Food was great, beer flowed and it continued back at the hotel were many of the guys from the conference were staying. Met up with Steve Jackson who’d spoken on the all star analytics panel that day.

I have a huge weakness. For all things Scandinavian. Well - maybe not all things, but certainly all things design. Textiles, furniture, homewares, fabric. There's something about the clean simplicity and bold pattern that I find both jaw-dropping and calming all in one.
